progressive lowering springs

Hi I have purchased progressive lowering springs for a 1976 Fiat spider from an established Fiat parts supplier.
Stay with me…it’s not a Fiat question..
The rear springs have five tighter coils at one end.
My question is which way up?
The supplier thinks they go at the bottom.
The springs also came with a nylon woven sleeve that is long engough to slide over the first two coils..do you know what this is for (anti-squeak?) and which end should they be installed…thanks in advance for any help you can give me…pete

what are my rights in car insurance claim?

Recently a neighbor backed into my brand new parked car instead of his driveway.  He gave me his insurance info and I reported the claim.  It turns out we both have the same insurance companies.  I am really upset that a new car (purchased 3 months ago) has sustained damages.  What I want to know is what rights do I have in going about a resolution?  I know I can get it repaired by a body shop of my choice but I’m not too keen on repairing and then using a car that has been hit through no fault of my own.  Repairs are rarely the same as new and I see no reason to be subjected to this as it would eventually cause me loss when I try to sell it. Can I demand to the insurance company to replace my car?  I will lose a couple of days in wages in trying to sort this out.  Do I have the right to get reimbursed?  What about for time lost and inconvenience?  Car rental?  What other rights do I have?  What is the best way to handle this?  Please HELP!

Bio Diesel

I know this area is for Hybrids but I don”t see a category for a bio-diesel question. I”ve been researching on line and there seems to be a lot of people making there own vegetable oil fuel, do you have any recommendations of which system to use? I have been looking at the Diesel Secret Energy system which has a 87 vegetable content and relatively simple process.

Is it likely for an adjuster to aim low

Hi Anne,

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.  I have been in multiple accidents within the past year.  I assume that the insurance companies begin to question why I’ve been involved in so many no fault accidents and possibly label me.  Thankfully I am still alive and kicking with all my limbs; however the injuries sustained in each accident were very painful and caused a lot of discomfort.  Cervical, mid/low back pain, arm numbness, and headaches.  I question if the offer I received from Statefarm for $4000.00 when my med bills alone total $7025.00 is because they are aware of the injuries sustained in the previous accidents.  Of course I am preparing a counter offer letter, but out all my accidents this is by far the lowest offer I’ve received and totally unacceptable.

Thanks for your response,

Candice

Melbourne Domain Tunnel truck and car crash

This was a story on A Current Affair which was about dangerous driving. By coincidence the car that was fitted with cameras to demonstrate this was directly in front of an accident inside the Domain tunnel, so it was captured on video. Watch the marone mercedes move into the centre lane, out of view of the truck’s mirrors as he indicates to change into the same lane. Once the truckie moves left a collision is inevitable. Higher quality capture available here: media.sensationcontent.com Note this was in Australia which is a RIGHT HAND drive country. For those of you who think there’s no one in the car, look more closely. :)
